The Center of the Universe - STEP TWO: LINEART
I create a new layer over the sketch. Then, on the new layer, I lay down cleaner, detailed lines, tracing my sketch with the Scratchboard Tool brush. My settings for the Scratchboard Tool is not the same as the default, though. My Dab Type is Circular (the default is Rendered), and I have the Opacity thing set at Pressure (defailt is None).
This is all Painter, by the way, so don't pull your hair out if you can't find Scratchboard Tool in Photoshop. ;) Also, if you're doing this with a mouse, changing the Opacity setting to Pressure will NOT help.
The blue stuff is some patterns I made up. It's on another new layer, separate from the lineart. Don't pay attention to it, though, because I'll eventually get rid of it...
