The Center of the Universe - STEP THREE: PRELIMINARY COLORS
Rough colors. I start with the background because it helps me pay attention to the picture as a whole; when I start with the character, I tend to over-focus on the character, then different parts of the picture start fighting for attention instead of cooperating.
More Painter talk: I'm not sure what brush I used here. But I do remember that in Brush Controls under Expressions tab, I had Colors set at Pressure. If you don't know what this does, fire up Painter and see it for yourself. In the process, try selecting different foreground and background colors... *hint*
