Media: Painter 6.1 Time: 7-8 hours Date of Completion: February 21, 2004
I didn't spend that much time on this one, and for once, laziness is not a reason. I wanted to be confident; I didn't want any strokes that said "okay, I don't know what I'm doing, but hopefully this makes it better." Instead of trying in vain to improve a picture without knowing exactly what I wanted to do with it, I left it as it is.
A couple of notes: there is no real light source here. The figures are supposed to be... I don't know, glowing from within? Not even glowing, but just shadow-defiant in an abstract way. The shading is just there to help the viewer make out of what's going on. In this particular picture, color palette and negative space/ silhouette are more important than the shading.
The theme here is "platonic love." Can you see the orange girl's hands clasped together, like in prayers?
